Astro is Freefly’s compact industrial drone platform!
Freefly understands the need for quality tools. For more than 10 years Freefly aircraft have carried cinema cameras for Hollywood and high-end productions around the world. It carries valuable payloads in high-pressure situations. We also understand the need for flexibility. Astro’s interface specs are open, making it a flexible and reliable tool to get your new ideas in the air.
Each Astro Base includes an Astro (with props and folding landing gear), and spare parts kit all packed in a hard case. The Astro needs 2 SL8 Batteries and SL8 Chargers to fly which are not included in this package and need to be purchased separately.
Notes
- Pilot skill with Manual Mode is required for Emergency Procedures. Learn more
- Astro uses two Freefly SL8-Air batteries per flight (not included in this kit). We recommend 4 SL8 batteries and 2 SL8 Chargers to get flying.
- Works with RTK GPS Ground Station, through a user-supplied ground station computer (optional)
- This kit does not include a payload (e.g. gimbal/camera)
- Astro Base does not include any vibration isolation:
- You can hard mount payloads to the chassis.
- You can purchase the Astro Isolator (for any Freefly payload or 3rd party payloads with the Smart Dovetail interface)
- 3rd party payloads may use Freefly Smart Dovetail Kit (requires integration) with or without a simple isolator mount.
